International Head-to-Head –Part Seven, Brazil and (West) Germany (Part 2-1990s to present)



1990s

Brazil faced a unified Germany squad for the fisrt time in this decade. The sides faced one another three times in 1992-93 (a victory apiece and a 3-3 tie in the US Cup).
Led by Ronaldo Brazil defeated Germany (2-1) in 1998 at Stuttgart.
The sides met at the end of the decade (1999) for their first ever Official Tournament encounter as Ronaldinho led Brazil in a (4-0) win.

2000s

The sides met for the first time in the new millennium for the Final of the 2002 World Cup. It was the first time ever the two sides had ever met in the World Cup. Brazil won the World Cup through a Ronaldo double.
After a friendly in 2004 (1-1), Brazil once again defeated Germany on Geran soil during the 2005 Confederations Cuop (3-2).
